Calgary’s Kayla Williams infuses a vibrant and refreshing twist into the smooth, feel-good stylings of “yacht pop” with her debut EP RETRODELIA. Expect a lively show filled with powerful vocals, playful horns, funky hooks, and bass-driven grooves. RETRODELIA pays a glittery tribute to the soft ’70s throwback era with a fearless, feminine spirit.
On June 2nd, at Bo’s Bar & Stage in Red Deer, Kayla will be backed by a full nine-piece band, including Calgary favorites Kate Stevens, Emily Slainey, Cam Buie, Andr Wickenheiser, and Mark Dejong alongside her band The Yacht Daddies- Melody Stang, Craig Gomez and Ryan Marchant.

Nhiyaw singer-songwriter Wyatt C. Louis will be opening the night’s event.Heath West and JUNO award-winning Spencer Cheyne produced Williams’ new four-song EP, creating a soulful and dynamic contemporary production. Her songs inject old soul wisdom into the male-dominated yacht-rock genre, resulting in a poppy punch that is sure to catch the attention of music lovers everywhere.WYATT C. LOUISWyatt C. Louis is a Nhiyaw singer-songwriter born and raised in parts of Treaty 6 Territory.Louis last release of ‘Dancing with Sue’, evokes the feeling of nostalgia, and yearning for the times in our lives where we feel the happiest and most free. They are set to release a debut album in 2023.
